Print tabletop RPG battle maps at the right scale

Bring a finished grid map to the game table with a tiled PDF. Set the map’s physical width from its square count instead of guessing how many sheets it needs.

Start making your poster

Count the grid in the original artwork

Use a map image you have permission to print. Count complete squares across the playable area, not the decorative frame. This maker does not generate a battle map or add a grid; both must already be part of your image. Keep the source at its original aspect ratio.

Convert squares to printed width

For a 20-square-wide map with 1-inch squares, the playable width is 20 inches, or 50.8 cm. Enter that under Exact size only if the image is cropped to the playable grid. If a border adds one square on each side, the full image spans 22 inches instead.

Test a square and assemble by row

Print at 100% and measure one square in both directions before printing every tile. Keep 5 mm overlap and page numbers to help reconnect paths and walls. Build rows on a flat surface, tape underneath, and keep the assembly map outside the play area.

Help & FAQ

Is the library world map a battle map?

No. It is an educational land-outline map with no game grid. Upload your own finished tabletop map for this workflow.

Can I use centimetre-scale squares?

Yes. Multiply the square count by the desired centimetres per square and enter the full-image width, including any border.
